What kind of sites do you offer?

New: Premium RV Sites with 50 amp service,

Wireless Internet & Cable TV

We offer level sites to accommodate all types of camping units of any size.  (Tents, pop-ups, motor homes, trailers and fifth wheels). Most sites have one to three full grown trees to provide ample shade. There is a picnic table and fire ring at every site.   All sites include free high speed wireless internet!

 

We have two types of  RV sites.  Our regular sites have 30 amp service and are gravel. We also have New Premium Sites with 50 amp service, high speed wireless internet and Cable TV.  RV sites range from 20'-30' X 40'-85'.                                                                                                          

 

Our tent sites have grass, pine needles or mulch and have electric and water. Tent sites average 20'X 30'. 

 

For those sites that do not have Cable TV a few TV stations (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS) may be picked up by antenna. 

Is there a modem hookup or WI-FI available?

FREE WI-FI included with all site rentals!
Yes, we have a modem hookup in our office available free of charge, in addition to a public access computer.

Can we see your site map?

Our Site Map is available online for viewing. Please note that we cannot promise specific site numbers.

Do you have pictures of your park online?

Yes, visit our online photo album.  If your family has pictures of a recent visit that you would like to share, we would love to put them online!  Email them to webmaster@anvilcampground.com.

Can you tell us about the attractions?

Yes!  We are the only campground to have a Shuttle Stop from the Williamsburg Area Transport bus service.  It links visitors to area attractions including, Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Jamestown, Yorktown, shopping and restaurants throughout the city.

We are full time campers, can we get our

mail forwarded to your campground?

Why is the campground named Anvil?

Anvil Campground has been family owned and operated since 1954 and is now in its 3rd generation of management.  Our symbol, the Anvil, comes from our family's tradition of blacksmithing. The founder of  our campground and his father made the original wrought iron work (locks, hinges, shutter dogs, gates, etc...) for Colonial Williamsburg from 1929 to 1935. Our family is very proud of our history.  A display with some of the family made items is located in our main building.

• Campsites: Check-in time is  12:00 pm.  Check-out time is 11:00 am.

• Cottages:    Check-in time is  3:00 pm.  Check-out time is 10:00 am.

Are campfires allowed?

Yes, we allow campfires at every site!

Are you open all year?

Yes, we are open all year! 

Are pets allowed?

Pets are allowed at no additional fee. We just ask that you keep them on a leash and promptly clean up after them.  No barking dogs allowed.  Unfortunately we are unable to allow pets in the rental cottages.
